In the heart of Kampung Kiding, Kuching, Sarawak, lies a breathtaking waterfall that has become a sanctuary for nature lovers. I embarked on a few unforgettable journeys to this enchanting destination, and my last visit was during the challenging times of the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020 when travel was limited to within Sarawak. As we set out on the muddy trail leading to the waterfall, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Bidayuh kampung, the air was filled with the sweet aroma of durians. It was the durian season, and the trees were adorned with the prized fruits, some still clinging to the branches while others had fallen to the ground. The trail, marked by bamboo crossings of various sizes, hinted at the adventure that awaited us.
