S.R.B Chung Hwa School

This is the Primary school that I studies before. The Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Chung Hwa a.k.a SRB Chung Hwa (Chung Hwa Primary School). I study year 1 at the year 1987 when I was 6 years old, and I have to study until year 6. I finish my year 6 at 1992 when I was 12 years old.

This is the block when I first come to study. Now they had repaint the building, back in my days the paint is faded and there are no writing on the walls.

This is the classroom that I first used; now it had become the classroom of Year 5C. Last time it was called Year 1C. They had divided all the classroom into 3 classes, class A, B and C. Near to my classroom the place where they put the fire extinguisher, I use to play there along with my school mate.
I remember there is one time when my school mates and I draw picture on the wall, and when our teacher found out. She punish us to wipe off our masterpiece *hahaha* luckily she didn’t cane us that time.

Moving to the second floor, this is where the Music class held back in my days, it is the first door on the right. Now I’m not sure what class it is. There is a lot of red lantern hanging on the classroom door; cause is Chinese New Year when I visit back my school.

I am not sure what the age of this mirror is, but it is hung there since I study. Now is more that 20 years…better take a shot at it. Still can see my reflection, I can send this photo to “The Mirror Project” (www.mirrorproject.com).

This block belongs to Year 2 and 3 back in my days. My class is at the ground floor the first door I was in Year 3C that time.

The canteen, if not mistaken my break time is at 10.00 am – 10.30 am. There are only morning session, in the evening is for curriculum class, and tuition class. Last time I always feel that the canteen is big. But now when I visit back, I feel like the canteen is not that big at all. When the break time bell rang, my friends and I will rush to the canteen to dig for food. But there is always a long queue at the canteen.

Move along to the next classroom, this block belong to the Year 4. Now it had become the Library.

Some moral writing on the wall to remind the students to be good, at this wall they had wrote about the bad habits. Like don’t be greedy, liar, proud, bad, cheat, anger, and etc. Some of the words had exceeded my Chinese level, sorry folks some I cannot translate. Need to look in the Chinese dictionary.

Then is Year 5, and 6, year 6 is the last year at primary school, and we need to sit for an exam that is set by the government to proceed to secondary school. The UPSR exam, I didn’t get very well in my exam but I didn’t get bad results either, I was in the average level. I did get an A for my English, and that’s the only A I got. I feel regret sometime cause didn’t get good marks in my exam, to make my parent proud. Hope they will forgive me.

This is the hall; I will have my assembly every Monday morning. Talk about the assembly now when I recalled back, I had forgotten what the headmaster was always talking about during the assembly. I only remember we had to queue up in guys’ one roll, girls’ one roll. And need to sign the national anthem at the beginning of the assembly and the school anthem after the assembly.

I had sneaked into one of the classroom; the tables are still the same wooden table. But the chair had upgrade to plastic chair, last time I am using wooden chair.

This Chinese New Year greeting card made by one of the student is very interesting. I think her name is Sharon CHwa; she had a very special wish. The rest I don’t want to mention, what interesting is that she had wished the “Peace to the world”!! Well Sharon I hope your dream will come true some day :)
I also have big dream when I was a kid, but when I grow up I realize things are not as easy as it looks.

The scariest place at S.R.B Chung Hwa school. OMG~~!!! The dental clinic….arrrr…run for your life. It’s coming...

I found this banner near to the assembly stage, it goes like this “To drugs say NO, NO, NO” and “To ecstasy DESTROY, DESTROY, DESTROY”

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the (fake) headmaster of S.R.B Chung Hwa Primary school...

Limbang Multi-purpose Hall (Dewan Suarah Limbang)

This is the main entrance of the multi-purpose hall. This hall had been used for various of functions. Concert, Badminton match, basketball match, wedding dinner, festival party, birthday party, and etc.

That day there I don’t have the change to take the interior photo because the entrance is locked. Inside the hall, there is a big stage situated in front of the hall. The floor is made from plywood, a layer of sleek paint are coated on the floor. The second floor is for seating purpose, you can look strait down on the ground floor, and on the stage.

The hall can be transform into an indoor basketball court, a badminton court or a volleyball court. Outside the hall, there is also an outdoor basketball court. When I study secondary school, I always went there play basketball with my friends.

My father is one of the members from the Hack Ka Association, so each year the association will organize an annual dinner there are one year they organize at this Hall. So father brought all of us to the dinner, we had a great time.

This year, they had repainted the hall. And they also had a new garden beside the hall, though the garden was small but for me I think the garden is beautiful.

Limbang Swimming Pool

Oh!! I Love swimming, last time when study primary school I will come to the swimming pool every weekend with my brothers and classmate. The entrance fees is 50cen, and you can stay as long as you like.

Welcome to Limbang Swiming Pool.

On the left side of the swiming pool is the Limbang Stadium.

Outsite view of the swimming pool.

The car park

The swimming pool, and YES opposite is the Chinese Grave Yard. So when you are swimming, just ignore when you feel someone if touching your leg, *sigh* yep, you got it, is from the ‘Visitor’ that live opposite :p

When I was young I was very anxious to learn how to swim, because I scare one day when I am on either a plane or boat and when it crash at least I still can swim, will not suffer death on don’t know how to swim.

The person who teaches me how to swim is my 2nd young brother Jason. Thank’s to him he taught me the skill on how to swim properly. After a few days I finally knows how, and when the time you know how to swim. Oh man, it sure feels great.

Limbang Stadium

This is the Limbang Stadium; it is situated near the Limbang town area. The stadium usually is use to host school sport day. No mater is either primary or secondary school. I remember every time when it school sport day I will become a black kid. Every evening after my morning class, we are required to go to the stadium to practice.

Beside school spot day, this stadium sometime also host football match. Organize by either the public or government sector. In a small town like this, is good to have such happening stadium.

Once in a while, father will ride his bike and came to the stadium to jogging. Sometimes there are also groups of people play football at the football field at the middle of the stadium. The evening time is the best time to jogging; most of the resident that live near to it will go jogging, the sun is just perfect. The gentle breeze blowing toward your face while jogging, making you feel fresh and relaxing. Watching the innocent little kids chasing and playing around with their little friends this will somehow make my heard tame.

The stadium track was make from some kind of plastic material, so if you accidentally fall down it will not injure you. Miss the good old days, accompanying my father jogging at this stadium. While jogging with father, he can jogging for non-stop, and for me after 1 or 2 round I’ll feel half dead. Pop I salute you, next time if have the Marathon race dont worry, i will help you enroll. *hehehe*

Limbang Waterfront

Start from this post I will be your temporary tour guide. Which I will be introduce some of the common place at Limbang. Limbang is one of the divisions from Sarawak state.

Most of the people here are Chinese, Malay, and Bumiputera people. For Chinese there is “Hock Kian”, “Fook Chow”, “Hack Ka”, and other dialect.

I am “Hack Ka”, but since I grown up in a multi language environment so I also know how to speak “Hock Kian”, and a little bit of “Fook Chow”.

Well, the first place that I going to bring you around is the Limbang Water Front. Before the waterfront been renovated, it is just a place for hawker stalls. After that the Limbang district officer had decided to make this a clean and beautiful place for people to hang out. So they have setup another place for the hawkers to hawks.

After that when all of the hawkers move their stall to the new place, the Limbang district office hire contractor to renovate the place.

So they put on beautiful tiles, to make it look tidy. And build a big clock to remind little teenager what time it is and don’t hang out too late, go home early cause tomorrow still need to go to school.

Question: Can you read what is the word on that electric signboard?
Answer: Kerana Mu Malaysia, Pesta Tang Lung, Pesta Limbang 2004. (It took me a while to guess what the words is).

It says that "For you Malaysia, Lantern festival, Limbang Town Festival 2004". Yeah, i remember my mom telling me that there is a lentern festival held at Limbang here. Well, the district officer sure are “hardworking” cause from last year until now, they haven’t take down the electric signboard.

When Saturday night, I usually will hang out with my buddies at here. Chit-chatting, eating Kua Chi (sunflower seed), whistle at pretty girls, and etc.

This is a new playground at my time in the 90’s this playground still not exist yet.

This is a place for the fish lover, so when on the weekend you can see some people finish at here.

Green plants

The waterfront is not very big thought, but since Limbang is not a very big place so this waterfront would fit just great in the heart of Limbang town :)

Opposite the river is the resident of the fisherman. So they all own a boat, and they will have to use their boat to cross the Limbang River, and then reach the town area.

There is also a small polis station situated at the end of the waterfront. The police office here will ensure there is no violence happens at waterfront here.

The police boat.

I took this shot on the jetty near the police station.

Bigger Police boat.

The Limbang river. The Limbang River had taken away many lives as well. I still remember there is one time my father’s friend daughters, they follow their friends to the other site of the river but unfortunately they fall off from the boat there was three or four of them (I don’t quite remember) but one of them drown, the mother cannot believe that her daughter had drown and cried badly.
They said sometime the dead people (die from Limbang River) wanted to find a replacement, so they will hunt for the unfortunate one. So have to be careful when crossing the river. Well, I hope if one of the Limbang district officers would read my blog. I purpose you build a bridge to link the town and the fisherman resident together *hehehe*
