Resort World Genting Highland Trip Report
Early morning waiting for our flight to go to Kuala Lumpur :D, I sleep around 3am, and its a struggle to wake up at 6am the next day.
First thing that we landed is to get food, and I had a wonderful lunch with my friends.
All the food are very delicious, all are meat. The signature dish is the barbeque pork meat.
The driver had a hard time on finding the correct way to reach the First World Hotel Lobby, a lot of on going renovation now. They are planning to build a new theme park, and are currently upgrading the place. So the roads are a bit messy.
The fun thing on a trip is to be ale to go with your friends who are nuts and crazy... LOL
The first world hotel lobby, waiting for our turn to check in to our room.
Some photos while we are waiting for our number to be called.
yes, almost there
Its time to party!!! After checked in to our room, we unload our stuff. And went to the first world shopping complex to see what's new there.
The good looking magician perform magic, and asked our of the audients to perform with him.
Very crowded, the show attracts a lot of audients. We then went to the dimsum restaurant nearby to have something to eat.
My friend told us that the correct way to eat the bun is to use the chopstick, clip, and put the bun on the spoon. Then bike a small whole and suck the soup inside the bun, then dip it with the soy sauce they prepared, and finally you eat it.
Didn't went to the casino, as I want to have more time in the mall instead of in the gamble room.
We decided to watch Captain America 3D tonight, each ticket cost RM20. Showtime will be 10.45pm
Looked outside the windows, the theme park had all been demolish. And a new one will be construct, I think this is a must to always attract new crowd to come here. Just like us human needs to keep on learning to improve our knowledge and skills.
Dinner for tonight, wait its dinner already, I didn't even notice the time. So dinner for tonight will be Bak Kut Teh, the herb pork.
After the dinner, its time to bowling, and this special glow bowling will starts at 7pm everyday.
3D and 2D movie, I prefer the 2D movie. After watched this, my eyes are tired, as I have to move it back and front to catch up with the character movement. And the glass are heavy.
Exploring the Genting Highland resort world :D
With all the food we ate, exercise is a must in order to keep a healthy body.
This time I'm luck enough to be able to ride the cable car, last time I'm here it was under maintenance.
A back and forth trip cost RM12
Expecting the cabin to be cozy yet its a bit warm inside.
How can I resist all the free food sample, I ate 90% of the food sample there, and the coconut sweet is the best.
The fog starts when we go back to the hotel, I barely seen the cable car coming towards us.
One of the staff which sells a lot of food looking magnet, and boy the food looks so real and delicious.
My friend wanted to drink some herb tea, and we came here. Its very bitter, but its good to get ride of our body heat.
An old Chinese saying, A good medicine always taste bitter. So here goes.....
The First World Hotel, which hold the record on having 6118 room, once hold the world largest hotel in 2006 in the Book of Record.
It will be great if people can have boat ride here
Its foodball night, so we are here together with the rest of the foodball fan cheering our team to win the game.
Also ordered two tower of beers while watching football.
At Genting, its a place where we forget about time, and no Sunshine. Its a great place for holiday, and chilling out with friends and family. Next trip hope that I can bring my parents and brother over.
Cheers,

Beratok (21st Mile) Chinese Temple on Rock Mountain, Kuching Serian
Beratok situated at the 21st mile of the Kuching-Serian road, that village are one of the three villages which form in the era of the British colonial government .
So I visited the Beratok Village on 21st Mile, and its was a small village compare to Siburan (17th mile), and Tapah (22nd Mile). One very interesting about the Beratok village, its has a Chinese Temple on the foot hill, and on top of the mount, there was an abundance shrine.
This is the Chinese Temple on the bottom of the mount
There is an old stairways up to the mount, and upon reaching there, we saw an abundance shrine. There are no statue, no information about the place. Not sure what is it use for...
From the looks of the shrine, the structure is like the typical Chinese Temple. But its hard to confirm, cause there are no signboard, or any Chinese carving on the pillar or wall.
The view from top of the mount, the 21st Mile, Beratok Village.

"On the night of 27 June 1965," recalled Dato Sri Yao, "a group of Indonesian soldiers came across the border from West Kalimantan and collaborated with members of the local Clandestine Communist Organisation (CCO).
They attacked the Police Station at Mile 18 Kuching-Serian Road. During the two-hour long battle, two policemen including the younger brother of the then Chief Minister, Datuk Stephen Kalong Ningkan were killed and two wounded. That night the intruders also killed 6 civilians and wounded 2, all of them Chinese Kheh."
When reinforcement came from Kuching to repulse the attack, the infiltrators beat a hasty retreat back to the border through Padawan Road. That night, another group of them caused slight damage to the bridge at the 24th mile Kuching-Serian Road.
"As a result of the above incident, the State Government launched an exercise called 'Operation Hammer' on 28th June which involved the establishment of three new residential areas to resettle the Chinese families residing in the 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st and 24th Miles which were declared as Controlled Area." The objective was twofold: to provide protection for residents in the areas concerned; and to eliminate communist influence.
"Immediate actions were taken by the Public Works Department, SESCO and other agencies to build new houses, wire fences around the new villages and install electricity supply. All the necessary works were completed by 6th July 1965 and on that date, more than 8,000 people from 1285 families were regrouped in the three centres under curfew, namely Siburan Village at 17th Mile, Beratok Village, 19th Mile and Tapah Village, 21st Mile."
