Our journey towards Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs led us to a delightful stop at Nabalu Town. Located approximately 90 minutes from Kota Kinabalu, this small yet vibrant market town is more than just a rest area; it’s a premier viewpoint for the majestic Mount Kinabalu.
Stepping out of the car, we were immediately greeted by the breathtaking, unobstructed panorama of Mount Kinabalu rising proudly in the distance. The mountain, often shrouded in mist, was on full display that day, its jagged peaks clear against the sky. This view, so close it feels like you could reach out and touch it, is a true highlight of the stop.
Beyond the stunning scenery, Nabalu is a treasure trove of local culture. The entrance to the village is lined with stalls overflowing with a variety of local handicrafts, fresh produce, and unique souvenirs. It's the perfect place to pick up a small keepsake and support the local community.
The journey continues with other natural wonders, including the small but scenic waterfalls found in the surrounding mountain areas. These waterfalls, such as Kipungit and Langanan found within the Kinabalu Park area, offer a refreshing break and a chance to immerse yourself in the lush rainforest environment.

On the way to Mt.Kinabalu park and Poring Hot Spring, a brief stop at Nabalu is recommended. It is located about 90 minutes drive from Kota kinabalu.

They sell all kinds of souvenir here, you will notice it right in from of the entrance to the village.
