I AM THE BORNEO EXPLORER 婆罗洲探险者

Hiking with a very experience flora and fauna researcher from Sarawak.  This time is to the southern side of Sarawak. ( Doing Unique Yield Opportunity exHploration, Bon Appetite yoU) The entrance of the cave Inside the cave is was pitch black, headlight was a mandatory to be able to view the cave structure inside. and it was full of bats, flying around, circling the centre of the cave. I was stunt seeing the number of bats in this cave. This is the sticky slime, a lot of it at the ceiling of the cave, and it will catch whatever insect that flies into it.  There are also clear water flowing out from the cave, but we dont have the proper equipment to explore, so we did not went too deep into the cave. 

  This is near an abandoned quarry. I was with one researcher to explore the base of the limestone mountain to hope that we can take some nice photos of fish and some fauna.  It was my first visit to this place, once we pass the abandoned quarry. Then entering the jungle surrounded by limestone. And I was astonished by the formation of the limestone, so beautiful and wired.  Like this one, for example, the base is so thin. But at the same time it is able to hold the big boulder without breaking on the neck area, how is this possible? Does physic still apply here? 

What seems like a deserted place back in 2015, now it has become a tourist hotspot, a weekend gateway for family to hangout. Read my post on my visit back in 2015 .  While the origins of these mudpots are not confirmed, research into the mud have found it to be free of bacteria and to be safe for humans. Locals also swear by the mud’s healing and cosmetic properties as well, bringing many people to take long dips in the relaxing warmth of the bubbling mud. This mud pod is deep, before you jump into any of the mudpot, better consult the locals there on the heigh of the pots first. Once you jump in, some are slippery and not easy to go out from it.   

One fine evening, I bring my family, brother, and nephew for a stroll at Kamping Patiambun, there is a plank walk that is about 0.7km long. This place is also called the Limbang Mangrove National Park, I ever canoe this area before which you can read my post here . This river is a small tributary that eventually will flow to a bigger one called Sungai Pandaruan/ Sungai Temburung. My brother Jye and nephew Hector boy Me and my boy Gareth  Some part of the plank walk are shared by the trees.
