  Gedong at Simunjan, this bridge belongs to a private sector oil palm plantation company. The river water are muddy, and my friend who worked here before told us that the river use to be very clean, it was around 20 years ago. The oil palm plantation has polluted the place, and also damage the environment. There is no balance in these days, they want to earn more wealth, but in the same time they need to cut down the tress to plant the palm trees. And the one who suffer will be the people who live nearby, and the  flora and fauna at Gedong, Simunjan.    Gedong - benak (Tidal Bore) The river forms a small wave (watched my video at the end of this post). In today post, I will bring you together with me to an mini expedition. At Kuching, the Batu Kawa - Bau road is the highway that link Sematan/Lundu to the Kuching. Everyday hundred cars passes by, a lot of restaurant/food court are build along the way, and some of them have good business. That morning, we first went to a places call the Kampung Senibong (Senibong Village). Then all along the way is just small roads that link to each other, its like blood vessel and they connect to each others. That morning a lot of morning mist, and I remember seeing the Matang Mount was covered by clouds on the summit. Its like the mount is wearing a hat, very beautiful scene. Then, when we drive pass a lake, we saw the mist is slowly, gently, quietly floating on top of the lake. This is a rare scene, and the first time I've ever encounter such beauty of nature. The Rayan Village Deer Farm , is hidden at the Singai village, Matang, Kuching. Singai village is named after Mount Singai, the mountain of myths and legends of Togung Kidau, the Flying Warrior, Warrior Princess Mikawel, Togung Kopear, who according to legend could throw objects for miles, and many others. The farm covers an area of approximately 20 acres and is located at about 40 minutes (drive) distance from Kuching city. To reach the farm, drive along the Batu Kawa/Bau road, a SIGNBOARD points to a right turn at the junction opposite Tondong bazaar, then drive in for 3km where the signboards will guide you to the farm. The farm is the first deer farm home stay in Kuching, as the owner build a longhouse style chalet for people to spend a night there.   The Apar Segong village is at one of the junction at the Batu Kawa - Singai Bau road. In the village, there is a project run by REDEEMS . Association of Research and Development Movement of Singai Sarawak (REDEEMS) is a community based organization (CBO) for the 12 Kampungs (villages) in Singai area of Bau District in Kuching Division of Sarawak, Malaysia. The 12 kampungs are namely Kpg. Apar, Kpg Segong, Kpg. Barieng, Kpg. Sudoh, Kpg. Atas, Kpg. Tanjong Poting, Kpg. Tanjong Bowang, Kpg. Senibong, Kpg. Daun, Kpg. Bobak Sajong, Kpg. Bobak Sejinjang, and Kpg. Sagah. These kampungs are predominantly inhabited by the Bisingai tribe of the Bidayuh community with an estimated population of not less than 15,000 people. I joined a new group of friends on my hiking trip in Kuching, today we went to two places. To the matang family park, and hike to the waterfall, then we decided to come to this place. Is called Mount Mike, mount mike is a Christian church on the foot hill, and on top of the mount, there is this India temple called the Maha Mariamman Temple. This is the only place in Kuching where there is an India temple in Kuching. To go to this place, you need to drive to the direction where the red bridge of Matang is. But when you reach a corner after the Malay mosque, try to lookout on your left, there will be a sign board displayed “Mount Mike”, turn left into the Malay Village, and drive straight in. When you reach the foot hill, there will be a few people there asking money from you to look after your vehicle. We paid RM5 for them. View Larger Map Matang Kubah National Park, and the Matang Waterfall. Both situated just next to the Matang Family Park phase 2. The Kubah Nationa Park is also good for mount hiking, it is around 2500KM above sea level. The entrance is RM10 for each people. Along the way there are a lot of flora and fauna, all of these are what made Sarawak so unique. That morning, my friends and I did not go for the mount hiking, but we went to the waterfall. The name of the fall is called the 白云瀑布 (bai yun pu bu) which translate white clouds waterfall. This is a trip to remember, that morning Me, Chan, Alex, and Tommy the 4 of us went to the western part of Kuching. The Lundu, the Sematan, and Jangkar Waterfall. We start our journey at the old Batu Kawa town, there we ate the famous Batu Kawa meat balls. Most of the Kuching people are familiar with the meat balls here. One thing that we found out is that the meat balls are getting lesser : p Our country inflation, the meat balls also inflation now... lols. Then, we have an hour drive to the Lundu town. The town is near to the sea, there is a river which connect to the sea. The water current flows fast, and it was high tide that day. We visited the newly build Retreat resort on Siar beach. I been here few years ago, it was still call Siar Beach. I called the Retreat office before to ask for the prices, but was annoyed by a very unfriendly lady. There is also a national park call the Gunung Gading where you can see the famous world's largest flower the Rafflesia Flower....

The second time I visit the place, went there with my mum at Saturday at around 2pm. The weather was HOT!!! The stuff that they sell are getting lesser, check out the blog post that I visit previously, last time they have more stuff compare to now. The place that they sell vegetable, this is at the very end of the stalls. Not sure what is this for, they said is for medicine. RM160 for one. And the dude are selling aphrodisiac medicine, so I guess this must be something related to it. Mum bought the fried banana, and the indo local titbits.   Sorry for my sleepy face :) but I've work up around 5am that morning, waited for my friend to pick me up at 5.30am. At first they told me that we're going to the hotspring. So I tough, I've been to the hotspring before, and it doesn't take that long to reach, why we have to go so early? Then, saw my friend drive pass the junction to the Annah Raise Hotspring , and keep on driving all the way to the Kuching-Serian road. And we drive pass the Siburan Village (17 Mile), then Pass the Beratok Village (21st Mile), and pass the Tapah Village (22nd Mile). Then he took a left turn into the Dragon School (aka College Tun Abdul Razak) at Tapah Village (22nd Mile Kuching Serian Road).   And then, we drive again for another 10 - 15 min, and I saw signboard saying "Pancor Hotspring", then we turn right, again, and follow the signboard again. How to look after a lots of Kids?  read My previous visit to the family, to know more about this family.   For you who are having birthday, Happy Birthday :) yeah, when we get a simple Happy Birthday wish on our birth day, we will feel warm, and happy, cause we know that we still have someone who remember us, someone who like us, someone who care for us, someone who we called friend/family.   When we asked this mother what is her children birthday, she needs to refer to the birth certificate for the actual day. Can't blame her for not remembering the children actual birthdate, cause too much of them, and she have to look after their living, study, work, health, wash clothes, etc. After we know the birthday of the kids, we then went and celebrate birthday with the kids there.  So my friend, please remember the birthday of your love one, family, kids, or best friend. I'm at the Bungai Beach, is a family day :) this beach is a 40 minutes drive from the Miri town.   Just like Buntal Village at Kuching , this place is a fisherman village too. But the good thing about this beach is that it is very clean. The water is crystal clear, and the ocean is green blue in colour. I seldom see such clean ocean in Sarawak. Normally is a but muddy.   The the beach cost line is like a few kilometer long.    I like this beach because it has a lot of big tress on the cost line, and I went there around 10am that day, we all just picnic under the trees shade. Without worrying the hot sun :)   And here it also has lots of jelly fish, some is huge!!! it give me the goose bum when seeing the jelly fish's back. Few years back (the first time encounter jelly fish), my brother and I went to a beach, and caught a few jelly fish, but we got stunk by it, and after that never in our life we dare to get close to ...

  So after the Niah Town , we went to the old Niah Town, is called Sepupok. You can get the location at google map here .   The famous food at this place is the Lobster Noodles, 9 bucks per bow. The reason we go there is because of the noodles, but unfortunately the owner went to Miri town that day, so they're not cooking.    The same at the Bekenu town and Niah town , it has a river next to the town center too.  And a "Beware of Crocodile" signboard has been put up as well.   The young, brave, and good looking crocodile hunter, Wilson Chin!!!! lols... :D I felt so pity for the people here, as some of them doesn't have water supply to their home, so although is very danger (crocodile) to bath in the river, but they have no choice.
