Mount Mulu Summit Exploration | UNESCO World Heritage Area | Mulu National Park | Post 3 of 3

The time was 2.30am, my summit push. The night before was pouring rain, and I was so worried that it will be another wet hike, fortunately the rain stop. Estimate will take us about 3 hours to reach summit. We are at about 1800meter above sea level, weather is cold. But I know I will sweat a lot, so warm clothes is not necessary for the time being.  The steepest climb is just few meter bellow the peak, some part we have to use both hands and ropes in order for us to climb up.  It was about 5.30am, finally we made it to the summit. It was still dark, waiting for sunrise to get a good view on the summit, and the surround view. One of my hiking friend, his site is at here . He did quite a lot of new discovery back in Kuching, and I'm happy that he joined in this trip. My buddy ah Loong and me on the summit. Day break and I can see the mountains and surrounding area. But its all covered in fog, very think fog. Unable to see the sunrise. ...

Camp 3 its at night its the temperature its about 24c that night. For me its cold, but its a good temperature to sleep inside my warm sleeping bag. We start our hike at 9am that morning, and will be going to camp 4 at about 1800m ASL. Its mossy forest all the way to camp 4, as the humid and wet condition are perfect for mossy grow. the porter starts slow, but manage to overtake me. For me I need to make sure my injured knee does not get much pressure, so I use my left leg to go upward, and the right leg follow. By doing so, I can let my injured right knee rest a bit.    Almost all the corners are beautiful, all of us just can't stop  I really like it here, I just take my time to hike, and document the things surround me.  If I remember it correctly, this was at about 1400m ASL. Where I saw many crystal looking rocks on the trail.    Nepenthes Hurrelliana Orchid belongs to...

Mount Mulu its located in Miri Division, Sarawak, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national park is named after Mount Mulu, the second highest mountain in Sarawak. 9.15am waiting at the Park HQ for our guide and porters. Taking pictures of the surrounding before my hike start. I'm surprise that this park is very well maintain among all the park in Sarawak.   We start our hike not until 10.30am, this is due to some miss communication with our guide. As they are expecting us to get our own lunch pack, and we are expecting them to prepare lunch pack. End up time wasted on getting thing sort up.  However, on the bright side, this gave me more time to take some photos on the Park HQ, as they have made such good effort to decorate the place. For example like these tempered glass with all the writing on the UNESCO det...
